Legal Adviser (Retainer) and Panel Advocate Recruitment Circular.
One legal advisor (retainer) for Comilla area and two panel advocates for Dhaka area for handling cases and providing legal advice on various matters in different courts of Dhaka, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Chittagong, Feni, Noakhali and Chandpur districts on behalf of Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited, Comilla. Four panel advocates, two panel advocates for Brahmanbaria area and one panel advocate each for Chittagong, Chandpur, Feni and Noakhali areas will be appointed for two years. For appointment of Legal Adviser and panel membership, applications are being invited from lawyers who are members of Bar Associations under the jurisdiction of Dhaka, Comilla (with experience in Labor Law), Brahmanbaria, Chittagong, Chandpur, Feni and Noakhali districts under the following conditions:
1. Must have 10 (ten) years of experience in handling cases in civil courts as a lawyer in Dhaka area (including 5 years of high court experience). Advocates with Bar-at-Law/LLM degree or Doctoral degree in any discipline of law will be preferred. Lawyers in areas other than Dhaka should have 10 (ten) years of experience in handling cases in civil/criminal courts.
2. Retired District Judges (below 65 years of age) who are practicing law can apply for Legal Adviser/Panelship.
3. The tenure of Legal Advisers and Panel Lawyers shall be 02 (two) years. Exemption/resignation shall be effective upon giving 30 (thirty) days notice to either party.
4. In the case of Legal Advisors and Panel Lawyers, preference will be given to experienced lawyers in handling cases in Bangladesh Gas Law, Company Law, Commercial Law, Labor Law in addition to handling cases in common law.
5. After being appointed as a legal advisor, the respective legal advisor will receive a retainer fee of Tk 1,000.00 (one thousand) per month. Engaged Legal Advisers and Panel Lawyers will separately receive fees as prescribed by BGDCL for filing and handling litigation in court. The applicable rate schedule for Legal Advisers and Panel Lawyers can be obtained from the Legal Branch at the Head Office of the Company. 6. If the applicant lawyers are working as legal advisers and panel lawyers of any other organization, it must be mentioned in the application and while employed as legal advisers or panel lawyers of BGDCL, they cannot work as lawyers of any organization/person against the interest of that organization.
7. 2 (Two) copies of the application form mentioning the applicant's name, father's name, mother's name/husband's name, permanent and present address, all educational certificates, national identity card, citizenship certificate (if any), Bangladesh Bar Council certificate, proof of membership of the concerned bar and other In case of experience certificate, 2 (two) copies of all certificates attested and 2 (two) copies of passport size photograph attested by a first class gazetted officer attached to the application form within 15 (fifteen) days of the publication of this notification Company Secretary, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited, Must reach Head Office, Champapur, Comilla.
8. The application and envelope should be superscribed with the words “Application for the post of Legal Adviser/Panel Advocate”.
